Master Mechanic Whitby

Here is a prime example of why you should trust your mechanic....

I will leave out the company who performed this vehicle's initial safety....cause the point of this isn't to shame someone. It also isn't made to make us look like the good guy .. it's about hardworking people and the service they should receive.......

We are seeing this on a weekly basis but this has been the worst...

Details :
2015 Honda CRV with 30,000 KM. Yes 30...

The client was quoted. $9000.00 in repairs... Some required and some recommended ..

The total of the " required for Safety" items
= $ 2936.20 plus the $315.00 inspection....

The client said they would like another opinion, luckily it came to us....and thank goodness for that intuition on her part......

We were able to inspect and complete the safety on this Honda CRV...

The result ? It needed a battery .. that's it ...

No brakes. No control arm, no calipers...
Just the battery because it won't hold a charge ..

The first thing that comes to my mind is .....

Tell me this dealership wasn't looking to scare this lady into scrapping her 10 year old vehicle.
Then Selling her a new one ..
and a technician buying this to flip it ? Or even the dealer actually flipping it....

Or better yet.. a flat rate technician making his monthly salary in a day or two's worth of work...
Because they decided humanity isn't important, being trustworthy isn't important , being honest isn't important...what's important is a pay day ..

Truly upsetting..this is what gives " Mechanics " a bad name

We will be following up with the MTO and reporting this. And hopefully they can send an agent to review this vehicle in person while in our possession.

Feel free to share and talk about it...be diligent on where you service...trust who you service with...and just because the vehicle is a certain brand doesn't mean the dealer is the only place to go ..

A little late on my part..
But a couple weeks ago we were able to get both Whitby and Ajax shops together with everyone's significant other for a day out.

What better way than going to watch a game !!

We all had a ton of fun and it was a great way to unwind together outside of our Monday to Friday grind.
