A little bit about me.....
Welcome, I am here to encourage and tell parents that you, in your strength and love driven determination, are the best advocate for your child. No one knows your child’s story better than you, and I am here to listen. I began my journey as a mother of a child with special needs. Our life was turned upside down when my son, only 3-years-old, was diagnosed with epilepsy. At age 7 he was diagnosed with a moderate intellectual disability and then at age 8, he underwent brain surgery. Over the course of time I became a person of many titles. Some have called me strong, driven, determined, a secretary, a financial analyst, an accountant, an advocate, a decision maker, and even the ultimate CEO of the life of a little boy named Cameron. During that time, Google became my best friend as I researched everything I could possibly do for my son. When I came across Neurological Reorganization, his life began to make sense and I excitedly began to explore this amazing program. I was determined not to surrender to a label of "intellectual disability" and I was ready to do the work necessary to address the injury to his brain. My son began this program and I soon realized that I myself wanted to train as a Neurological Reorganization Practitioner - not only helping him but others as well. I will never give up on my son as I know you will never give up on your children. The work of Neurological Reorganization, which is based on the normal neurological developmental sequence, gave us hope when the world said there was none. I am here now to extend hope to you. Children are so much more than labels and I truly believe there is life beyond labels, limitations and loss. I look forward to working with you and hearing your story.
Neurological Reorganization offers a NeuroDevelopmental Movement Program, based on the the Developmental Sequence (DS) which is what every human infant needs to facilitate the maturity of the lower levels of the brain. It is comprised of movement, reflex patterns, sensory, vestibulars and related activities.
The foundational levels of the brain are responsible for setting the stage for every human being to regulate, balance and coordinate emotions, behavior, physical structures, external/internal sensations, proprioception, impulse control, attention, focus, fight, flight, freeze, bonding/attachment, social skills, language function, gross/fine motor skills and overall brain function later in life.
