Build a Dream
We attract, encourage, and empower female students to pursue careers in STEM WHY WE EXIST?
Sometimes, all it takes is one opportunity to change the direction of your future.
Meet Raheal.
Through Build a Dream’s Women’s Work Program, she gained hands-on experience, built confidence with power tools, prepared for life on a construction site, and connected with the opportunity to begin her career as an HVAC & Gas Technician Apprentice.
This is what workforce development looks like.
By connecting career exploration, skills development, mentorship, and industry opportunities, we’re helping individuals build meaningful careers while strengthening Canada’s future workforce.
As Raheal says, “Force yourself into spaces where you think you don’t belong. You do.”
What career could you discover?

Canada has always been built by people.
The people who design our communities.
The people who build our infrastructure.
The people who teach, innovate, respond in emergencies, solve problems, and strengthen our economy every day.
As our workforce continues to evolve, one thing remains true: Canada's future depends on ensuring more people have the opportunity to discover careers where they can thrive.
At Build a Dream, we're proud to work alongside employers, educators, governments, community organizations, and industry partners to help build that future—creating pathways into skilled trades, STEAM, emergency response, entrepreneurship, and other high-demand careers.
Because when more people can see what's possible, they gain the confidence to pursue it.
And when opportunity grows, Canada grows.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Canada Day. 🇨🇦

This is what it looks like when women in skilled trades and STEAM stop playing small.
When they step into rooms designed for them.
When they connect with people who understand their journey.
When they learn from leaders who have walked the path before them.
When they realize they don’t have to become someone else to succeed.
They can lead as themselves.
Over the past three days at Dream & Build 2026, we witnessed powerful conversations, meaningful connections, honest stories, and the kind of energy that only happens when people come together around a shared purpose.
We heard from incredible speakers.
We learned from one another.
We challenged perspectives.
We built confidence.
And perhaps most importantly, we were reminded that there is an entire community of women and gender-diverse individuals working to create change across skilled trades and STEAM.
The quality of people in the room was remarkable.
The passion.
The expertise.
The willingness to share experiences and lift others up.
You could feel it.
Because Dream & Build isn’t just about professional development.
It’s about possibility.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about creating spaces where people can see what’s possible for their future—and then giving them the confidence to go after it.
There is a shift happening.
And events like this remind us that the future of skilled trades and STEAM is being shaped by talented, authentic, and determined people who refuse to settle for the status quo.
To everyone who attended, spoke, exhibited, partnered, volunteered, and helped make this experience possible: thank you.
The conversations started this weekend won’t end here.
And neither will the momentum.
