Phaez Amplification

Attention Marshall fans! Part 2. This is a continuation of yesterdays amp idea, which described the Plexi/Superlead mode - both channels in parallel and an added master vol. The JCM/2203 channel will be true to the original but I am eliminating the L input.

Another minor addition to the classic Marshall power amp section is the addition of a depth control. What presence does to the top end, depth does to the bottom end. Why have both? Because if you turn them both up you have essentially removed the global feedback. Presence lowers the feedback above around 900hz and depth removes feedback around 900hz and under. You may prefer the sound with with a custom level of feedback. Which you can do by using the presence and depth. And of course presence and depth can offer tone shaping too. Again, not deviating from the classic Marshall circuits just adding some versatility. More to come.

Attention Marshall fans! I am designing a new amp, something very cool. It is a combination JCM and Plexi. It will have a single input, and when the P mode is engaged it will be a Superlead/Plexi/1959/1987 type circuit but with a few tweaks. Instead of 4 inputs, the single input will connect to both Plexi channels. This is similar to how Eric Johnson uses a short Y cable to engage both channels. This, IMO, is inherently better than the common jumpering of the 2 channels as the channel that gets jumpered to will always be -6db.
The other tweak to the Plexi channel will be the addition of the JCM type master volume. Dime it if you don't want to use it, but it's never been the case for me that an added master to a Plexi DIDN'T help. MORE TO COME

New Appetite amp. One of my long-term amp models has been the AFD (Appetite For Destruction). Appetite is latest version of the AFD, and is such a major step up that a name change was called for. This is one of the first ones, and is 40W with a quad of EL84's. 3 Channels, chosen with a 3 position rotary switch. Think 1. CLEAN 2. CRUNCH 3. CRAZY. Has a loop. The Undisputed Champ. Very cool custom build. Fender Champ 5F1 with a tone control control. 3 way rotary switch that selects between an EL84, a octal, or a different octal. Was shipped out with an EL34 and a rare US 8417. But there are so many options for the 2 octal positions: 6V6, 6V6 triode, 6L6, KT66, EL34, maybe EL34 triode?
