Pain is a complex, unpleasant sensation that can be caused by a wide variety of factors. It can range from mild discomfort to severe agony and can be acute or chronic. ⁠

Acute pain is typically caused by injury or tissue damage, while chronic pain often results from an underlying condition such as arthritis or fibromyalgia. ⁠

Unfortunately, Warren is not typical and his pain is a continuous, non-stop attack due to multiple conditions, one being very rare.  Having a rare condition makes it harder to find relief and options.  ⁠

The wait for the pain clinic in Winnipeg has been a year and a half and counting.  We recently spoke with them and he might get in between January - March 2024...over a two-year minimum wait!  Take a moment to think about being in pain 24-7, for this amount of time, and having one painkiller after another barely working.  Paying for therapies to keep mobile and alleviate some of the pain.  These only reduce the pain for a short period.  A reprieve from the agony scale.⁠

Always be proactive and advocate for your health and see your medical professional as often as it takes to get them to listen and help find answers for your particular pain.  Pain can also be accompanied by other symptoms such as inflammation, redness, and swelling. ⁠

It's stroke awareness month.

Most people associate stroke risk factors being overweight, physical inactivity, heavy drinking, drug use, high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease.

We have learned learned there are other conditions that can cause stroke. In the case of Warren it was sarcoidosis.

Young people are at risk just as elderly, yet are overlooked due to age. We hope to change this mentality.
