Just came back from a fabulous trip to Colombia🇨🇴❤️

This trip was incredible, but it definitely came with its ups and downs, especially with the way I travel. I’m a budget backpacker, staying in hostels and planning everything myself. I wore this T-shirt on the days I needed the reminder most that I am, in fact:

PRETTY STRONG
PRETTY BRAVE ❤️

Every solo adventure requires bravery. There are amazing moments and so much fun, but there are also hard, uncomfortable, stretching moments. That’s where the growth happens. I was brave on my anxious days and still showed up. Walking into a hostel alone not knowing anyone. Going to a concert solo (the Bad Bunny concert was the best ever). And taking salsa classes, which might sound fun and easy to some, but was a huge hurdle for me. I cried after my first class… and then I went back two more times! That’s brave for me🤗

I had to be strong too. Physically strong hauling my backpack everywhere, powering through long travel days and some tough hikes, plus even getting caught in a beach storm 🫣 But also emotionally strong when things didn’t go as planned and I had to push through anyway.

And I was smart. I kept learning the entire trip, which is one of my favourite parts of traveling. I went to school to improve my Spanish, took tours to learn about the culture and history, and soaked up everything I could about the beautiful people who make Colombia what it is. ❤️ Being smart also meant problem solving when plans fell apart and choosing to keep going even when I felt overwhelmed. Staying positive made even the hard days fun.

There were a few tears, (sorry Mama😬🤭) but so much more laughter. So much growth. So many moments I’ll never forget.🥰

Be scared and do it anyway. That’s exactly what I did. And this fabulous shirt helped remind me of that every step of the way 💕🩷😉
