BONE FE**SH hail from the Pas. MB and are a solo project that have been making music since 2020. compiled the project's output on an LP/CS/CD release in 2025, and it pushed it's way into the year end death lists for anyone that heard it.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Wes and get the very last copies of the LP/CD/CS from his own stash. They are available now at eyeandearcontrolrecords.com.
We were also able to ask a few burning questions about the project - here is our conversation:
EAEC: Your location has really sparked a lot of curiosity; You're located in The Pas MB, roughly 6 hours northwest of Winnipeg. Have you always lived there?
BF: I've lived in The Pas for the past 5 years. Before that I was in Gillam and before that Winnipeg. Born in Winnipeg, raised in Gillam. Gillam is an isolated town. Its only purpose is producing power through its hydro dam.
EAEC: What got you started with your interest in music in general, and how were you introduced to gore and death metal?
BF: I got started in metal through bands like Metallica and Slayer. A friends influence ultimately brought me to extreme music through myspace deathcore in the late 2000's then it just got deeper from there.
EAEC: Is there a group of diehards that are into what you're doing, or are you operating in relative isolation musically?
BF: I don't really involve myself with any groups. I have had a few projects very early on in my musical endeavours with other people but slowly drifted away into purely solo projects. I've only consistently produced music with one very close friend.
EAEC: What are you listening to these days, old or new? What drives your imagination when it comes to writing new material, and what's your go-to stay-awake-while-driving selection?
BF: I listen to a little bit of everything. I can't stand listening to only extreme music so I go anywhere from city-pop to harsh noise. However personal favorites and influences when it comes to extreme music are Carcass, Dead Infection, Regurgitate, and Devourment. I find those are my usual choices when it comes to travelling soundtracks too.
