We couldn't be more excited to have Nunavut join CIFFC as a member agency! CIFFC now has representation from all three territories and ten provinces in Canada. 🥳

🔥 Together we are stronger and more resilient in the face of wildland fire.

The Government of Nunavut is officially a member of the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC).

This strengthens Nunavut’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from wildland fires by connecting the territory to a national network of wildfire agencies across Canada.

Through this partnership, Nunavut will have access to mutual aid, resource sharing, training and wildfire prevention programs like FireSmartTM Canada.

As environmental conditions continue to change, this is an important step toward strengthening emergency management and helping keep Nunavummiut safe.

Your campfire might look small, but the forest sees it differently. One stray ember is all it takes. 🔥

Before you leave, soak, stir and soak again.

And this season, please don’t feed the wildfires.
