Heal and Toes Reflexology

Just finished a great day doing reflexology at the Roseau River Elders’ Gathering!

I’m not sure where or when I heard the phrase "Knowledge is Power" but to me it is very true. Throughout my life there has been many times I struggled in school or when taking a course. I felt deflated and that maybe I wouldn't be able to succeeded.

When I started learning reflexology, I realized I could learn. Maybe not in the way that others do but in my own way. And the more I learned about reflexology and how it can help people, the more I wanted to learn. To me, reflexology is really powerful, not just in what I do, but in how I think of what I am going to do during my reflexology sessions! After 25 years of learning, I now feel I have so much to share.

I feel like this is all what I give to my students. I feel that through the knowledge they gain from me I help them to really learn the power of reflexology. And it is this new knowledge that they gain that will help Empower them in ways to succeed.

I find this is true for all levels that I teach, everything from the Foot Reflexology Course to learning to become a Reflexology Teacher. Now I also have my Reflexology 201 Program. I feel this program will really help Empower Reflexology Therapist to take their career to the next level!

I can't wait to keep sharing with you more about this new program of mine. The sole purpose of this program is to Empower Reflexology Therapists through the knowledge they will gain which will help them to create specialized Treatment Plans. As to me this is the foundation of any successful reflexology career.

It seems my theme for this year is Empowerment and it appears I am not the only thinking about this. On tv the other day, I saw a commercial with Gillian Anderson, or "Scully" from X-Files. And it was what she said that instantly became my new motto "you don't know real strength until you have met a woman over 50!!!". What do you think, Empowering, right?!

I love that everywhere I go lately people are working at feeling Empowered. And for me one way to do this is to surround myself with powerful women. I know when commercials start reflecting what I am feeling I know there must be so many more of you out there too!

What is your motto? I would love to hear it as I love to use these positive thoughts to help drown out any negative thoughts that are creeping into my head. I love my reflexology business but sometimes it is hard to be self-employed. This is when I need a whole list of positive quotes, thoughts, and mottos to rely on.

Yesterday I had a good talk with a client about how hand pain can be more than just what they are feeling in their hand, or in this case the thumb. This is one of the many things I love about reflexology - how well it works at connecting the body together as a whole!

When someone comes to see me with hand or foot pain I will ask a lot of questions about how their arm/leg, shoulder/hip are as well. I also always work a lot on the spine reflex as it connects to everything! Also it is important to note that between our muscles and bones we are really just one long chain and a problem in one part of the chain may cause an issue in another part of the chain.

And this is just the start of all the connects we can make as reflexology therapists!

I also asked what else was going on and there was talk about concern for the liver. I found this interesting as in TCM the liver is connected to the ligaments and tendons! For those of you who are not aware, the top part of the thumb (where the pain was) has no muscles, only ligaments and tendons to help with movement and stability.

To me reflexology is like doing a puzzle and connecting all the pieces together! I love creating personalized treatment plans for my clients and that is why I have started to create a whole program that is centred around this and I hope to share it with you all soon.
