DRC: Gone are the days of suffering in silence ! ✊🇨🇩

After the incredible mobilization of our youth in the streets of Kinshasa on November 3, we have shifted into high gear. On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, we officially launched the next phase of our fight for climate and economic justice.

Why is this campaign so vital to us ?

Because the DRC is a “solution country,” but our people can no longer be satisfied with thanks or promises. The rationale behind our approach is simple :

Our resources, our wealth : We demand a 1% tax on finished products made with our strategic minerals. The cobalt and lithium that keep the world running must first build our schools and hospitals.

Repairing injustice : Africa emits less than 4% of greenhouse gases but loses billions because of the climate. It is time for the big polluters to pay for the damage and for our debt to be canceled so we can breathe.

Sovereignty : With the “La Forêt, c'est nous” (The Forest is Us) program, we are taking back control of the management of our ecosystems.

This is no longer just a question of the environment, it is a question of dignity and economic survival. The global energy transition will not happen at our expense, but with us, as equal partners.
