The Congo Project

This is my little brother. He was born and raised in the South-West of Ireland. He's very proud to be Irish (and now after this trip feels the same about Congo!), which is a great attitude to have! So many Immigrants and children of immigrants often are not grateful for the opportunities given to them by their adopted country. They do not associate with people outside their origin nationality etc, nor do they try to blend in with their new culture. It was tough at first, but then you come to realise how generally accepting the Irish are. I've travelled alot and I must say the Irish are truly special. Anytime I've met an Irish person abroad, they would always offer to help me out in anyway shape or form. I've learned that the Irish are a tight knit community, always supportive of each other and very proud of who they are.

I feel this is something Congolese can learn from too. We need to be more supportive of one another, no matter if the person grew up in Congo or not, whether they're black or not and even if they've got no blood ties, but simply want to celebrate our culture. This is one of the many reasons why we do not progress as a nation.

Qu'est-ce que 'The Congo Project'?

Nous voulions créer une plateforme pour montrer au monde qu'il y a un grand potentiel au Congo pour l'investissement et l'innovation. Il n'y a peut-être jamais eu de meilleur moment que maintenant! Africa is ! Pour la première fois depuis longtemps, pour de bonnes raisons aussi. Notre culture vibrante, notre mode flamboyante et surtout nos attitudes positives contagieuses ont toutes été exploitées dans le passé par des étrangers.

Sur la photo, voici Epchy Kama, notre talentueux caméraman. Avec son aide, nous avons filmé un documentaire qui a capturé le climat économique actuel du pays. Nous avons parlé aux jeunes, aux hommes d'affaires et à ceux qui ont été les plus durement touchés.

Malgré les luttes, nous avons remarqué que la nation s'est vraiment réunie. Les gens créent des entreprises à partir de tout et de rien. Nous abordons ce sujet et plus encore. La vidéo arrive à un écran près de chez vous! 🙌🏾❤️🇨🇩
