MAROC – RABAT – Semaine du 20-25 Janvier 2025
Co-organisation de l’évènement d’envergure "LA SEMAINE DU MAROC EN SUISSE"
et visite de la lagune de la MERJA ZARKA/Moulay-Bousselham située entre Rabat et Tanger.

L'ONG MERJA ZERKA: Une initiative de préservation et de protection des littoraux et de gestion durable. Cette ONG enregistrée au Maroc et en Suisse a été créée autour de la coopérative de Merja Zarka. Elle est dotée du statut consultatif ECOSOC promeut la valeur des zones humides auprès des décideurs et autres responsables notamment dans le forum de l’ONU. Deux contributions écrites ont été présentées au Conseil des Droits de l’homme, durant la 58 ème session (24 février au 4 avril 2025). Isabelle Bourgeois, Présidente de PARTNERSHIP NETWORK INTERNATIONAL en est la Représentante permanente auprès de l'ONU.

and visit to the MERJA ZARKA/Moulay-Bousselham lagoon located between Rabat and Tangier.

MERJA ZERKA NGO: An initiative for the preservation and protection of coastlines and sustainable management.This NGO registered in Morocco and Switzerland was created around the Merja Zarka cooperative. It has ECOSOC consultative status and promotes the value of wetlands to decision-makers and other officials, particularly in the UN forum. Two written contributions were presented to the Human Rights Council during the 58th session (February 24 to April 4, 2025). Isabelle Bourgeois, President of PARTNERSHIP NETWORK INTERNATIONAL, is its Permanent Representative to the UN.

Through the leadership of the Egyptian NGO FARAH FOUNDATION, 8 Egyptian civil society organizations supported and represented by the international NGO PARTNERSHIP NETWORK INTERNATIONAL (PNI) have come together to form THE COALITION FOR DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS (CDR)

For the 4th UPR cycle of Egypt, the CDR coalition submitted a joint report to the OHCHR [1] covering the situation of implementation of the rights of persons with disability, the health issue and digital violence in Egypt.

UPR: 12 RECOMMENDATIONS
TO STRENGTHEN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
IN EGYPT summerized as follow:

1. Eradicate of all forms of discrimination and violence persons in disability situation;

2. Increase effective awareness and provide capacity building about issues facing persons with disabilities;

3. Enhance Physical and Digital Accessibility: This includes ensuring public buildings, transportation, and online services are accessible to all persons with disabilities and their caregivers;

4. Remove barriers and create opportunities for persons with disabilities in a coordinated public-private approach;

5. Continue efforts to reduce poverty, make food and healthcare accessible in line with the Sustainable Development Goals;

6. Review cybercrime legislation, adopt preventive measures, reporting mechanisms and victim support to combat digital violence against children;

7. Urgently regulate the price of medicines.

THE UNIVERSAL PERIODIC REVIEW:

Time and date: 14:30 – 18:00, Tuesday, 28 January 2025 (Geneva time)

PARTNERSHIP NETWORK INTERNATIONAL (PNI) together with 4 Egyptian coalitions submitted 4 reports to the review of Egypt in the UPR process and we are now following the different steps in Geneva.

On this occasion, we rely on the analysis of the action plan and the effective implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy, the national mechanism for dialogue and individual and collective rights and freedoms to congratulate the Egyptian State for the many advances made and we advocate for the adoption of an effective and rapid action plan aimed at improving the measures taken concerning in particular: the administration of justice, freedoms of religion, belief, opinion, expression, assembly and access to information.
