In Poland, the world's first cross-border QKD connection on an operational has now been established by ID Quantique, in collaboration with Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.

OPENQKD has run for two years now, testing and showcasing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems under different use case scenarios.

This will demonstrate the performance and integration of the devices in real-world optical fibre networks, and assess its business value.
