During the Mukwege Foundation's first-ever mission to Bamako, Mali, we brainstormed with our local partner - Sini Sanuman - on ways to enhance support for CRSV survivors. We also met with other organisations and key actors to help assess survivors' needs and priorities related to holistic care, justice and reparations.

Security in Mali remains volatile, and conflict-related sexual violence has been entrenched for over a decade. CRSV are largely under-documented due to the insecurity, justified fear of stigmatisation and reprisal, and weaknesses in the national judicial system. In a slight chance, when cases of r**e, gang r**e, forced marriage, abduction and other forms of sexual assault have been documented, all parties involved in the armed conflict have committed these crimes with absolute impunity. **einwar
