This May 4th, we’re celebrating the birthday of our unforgettable Audrey 🥳 To make it extra special, we’ve imagined her in the Star Wars universe, wielding a lightsaber just in time for “May the 4th”! ✨🌌

As you all know, Audrey never backed down from fighting injustice. She was a true Jedi in real life with her role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and all her efforts for human rights. 💪 So today, we remember Audrey by keeping her wise words in mind: “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”

Happy birthday, Audrey, and may the Force be with us all! 🎂

Comme vous le savez, Audrey n’a jamais baissé les bras face à l’injustice. C’était une véritable Jedi dans la vie, grâce à son engagement en tant qu’ambassadrice de l’UNICEF et sa lutte pour les droits de l’homme. 💪 Alors aujourd’hui, on se rappelle d’elle en gardant en tête cette phrase qu’elle nous a léguée : “En aidant les autres, on s’aide soi-même”.

Alberto de Rossi

Like Hubert de Givenchy, Audrey had a close, almost familial bond with Alberto de Rossi. Alberto was an Italian makeup artist who shared many of Audrey’s ideals. He felt that, instead of following makeup trends, women should stick to colors and styles that suit their skin tones. He also thought that eyebrows should be natural and never shaved off or overplucked. His influence can be seen in Audrey’s thick, natural-looking eyebrows, in contrast to some of the thinner, plucked looks of the time period. Alberto’s biggest contribution to Audrey’s career was the technique he used on her eyelashes, which Audrey’s son, Sean, described as “a slow process of applying mascara and then separating each eyelash with a safety pin.” Audrey’s large eyes enchanted many and were one of her defining features, which de Rossi helped emphasize. Alberto’s elegant, timeless makeup looks are still admired today.
