The Gospel only comes in one form—one that transforms lives. We cannot separate the Gospel from the power of God, and when the moments of demonstration and victory come, we give those moments to God readily. But what about the moments of pain or loss, or when it didn’t go the way we believed that it would? God is asking us to give Him those moments, too. It isn’t that problems attract His power, but rather they create opportunities for surrender, and He is strong in our weakness.

God is looking for a people who will give their “yes” to Him even in moments of weakness and loss. If we can trust Him with our weakest moments, He can trust us with His power. The Gospel must be preached with power—it’s not optional. For that to happen, we must give Him our hard moments too, and wait with faith, knowing He can do immeasurably more than we can ask, think, or imagine.

When a challenge arises and I turn to fear, the Lord is exposing a need in me. He’s not shaming me, He’s just bringing to the surface where I’ve built wrong security. Insecurity is wrong security exposed. He brings it to the surface so I can deal with it and move into His divine solutions and answers.
