The blame game must stop and we have to collaborate in finding a lasting solution so as to give our city ( Buea) the beauty and cleanliness it deserves. On the 20th of June WOMEV took part in a workshop (dialogue session) held in Buea, organised by Youth Advocates for Peace and Community Environment Cameroon (YAPCEC) and Cyndibless foundation, sponsored by the Local Youth Corner (LOYOC) with support from OSIWA on the theme; From blame to collaboration. An improbable dialogue on Waste Management and Peacebuilding in Buea. Participants discussed on the state of waste disposal, waste management, causes and the negative effects especially on our health, and the relationship of waste management to conflict and Peacebuilding. After serious deliberations, with heavy insights from stakeholders like Hysacam, a lot was cleared pertaining to the blame game and in conclusion everybody admitted everybody was responsible for the reason why waste management and disposal is poor. For the way forward, participants committed themselves to becoming ambassadors by putting an end to the blame game, work in partnership and collaboration with other stakeholders in making Buea clean again. You can't talk about poor waste management amd leave out conflict. Managing our waste well is a trigger to preventing conflict thus building peace as well

Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is an annual global day Initiated by the German NGO WASH United in 2014, celebrated on May 28 every year. On any given day, over 300 million people are menstruating, yet an estimated 500 million lack access to basic menstrual products and hygienic facilities. (UNICEF)
This day, Women for Environment (WOMEV) together with other non-profit organisations, government agencies, the private sector, and the media in a Royalty World initiatiated walk decided to break the silence on taboos surrounding menstruation and raise awareness about the importance of good Menstrual Hygiene Management .
A world where menstruation is accepted as a normal part of life and no longer carries stigma.
Menstrual Health Day addresses focus areas like:
• Dismantling Social Stigma:
• Providing Comprehensive Education:
• Ensuring Product Accessibility:
• Improving Sanitation Infrastructure:
• Expanding Healthcare Services:
1 in 10 schoolgirls in Sub-Saharan Africa miss school due to their periods, which often leads to higher dropout rates and early child marriage. (UNICEF) It's time to say NO to negative Menstruation practices. Womev says yes to the advancement of Menstrual Dignity.
