THE LIGHT was officially invited to participate in the Zero Waste
Forum 2025, which took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 17–19 October 2025.

The prestigious international event brought together leaders from governments, Business, academia, international organizations, and civil society to advance dialogue and collaboration on zero waste, circular economy, and sustainable development. It also hosted ministers, mayors, senior executives, and global experts, with over 1000 strategic partners participants from over 100 countries.

Zero Waste is not just about protecting the environment by collecting, reducing or managing waste, - Zero Waste implies connecting with nature in a sincere mind; it is an ideology, a philosophy, a global action, a movement, a way of life following the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to give back a sustainable and better planet to future generations.

In this event, THE LIGHT signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with the ZERO WASTE FOUNDATION which is a non-profit Organization dedicated to creating a sustainable future by promoting the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Its mission is to promote zero waste mind set through, Advocacy, awareness creatıon, sensitizing, education, community engagement, and innovative resources management solutions. This initiative is championed by Her Excellency, Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, first Lady of Türkiye, who serves as the Patron of the Zero Waste Foundation.

We cannot afford to neglect the commitment of a small group of persons to bring effective change for we only have one EARTH.
Let’s all take action in our individual corners to preserve our planet Earth for future generations to come.

Zero Waste is very possible, let’s embrace change and transform our mindset.

Participating in the KINGS BATON RELAY –KBR was a great experience. We hope to get involved again in GLASGOW 2026.

We wish to sincerely thank the Association for Community Awareness – ASCOA for formerly inviting us and especially for their great sense of understanding that we must all get involved to kick out plastic pollution.

It was a very engaging, impactful and successful exercise. Enough knowledge was both shared and gained.

THE LIGHT remains very positive and grateful to the Common Wealth Games, all their representatives and respective facilitators.

A clean environment is a safe environment.

Good day everyone.

We are delighted to have been selected by one of our giant partners > to take part in a plastic pick up coordination program as part of activities to mark the Kings Baton Relay-KBR prior to the commencement of the COMMON WEALTH GAMES 2025. The KBR is very significant and comprised of a lot of activities and messages that cut across boundaries.

In preparation therefore;

We have attended a meeting convened by the lead organization at its head office together with invited participating coordinating partner organizations. The outcome was very successful and positive.

On the 11th July 2025 we also took part in the planning meeting that involved the Douala city council alongside some common wealth representatives.

Later in the day of 11th July 2025, our team conducted a feasibility study to have a better synthesis of the site.
