My dad, who is of blessed memory, ensured we(Myself and my siblings) got engaged in business whenever we returned home for the Holidays.

He gave us 100k as capital and the freedom to decide on the kind of business to put the money in.

I was in form 3 when I received my first capital from him. I made three super successful trips to Foumbot from Ekondo T**i to buy fresh tomatoes.

The selling price of a basket of tomatoes in Ekondo T**i was 9000 frs, whereas the buying price at Foumbot was 3000 frs. Good profit margin, right?

Guess what happened.

I got carried away, started spending my profits with zero calculation and plan, and before I knew it, my capital was half gone.

Dad must not know I squandered his money, so Mom had to be involved.
To cut the long story short, Mom put me on board a boat destined for Ekang beach, Nigeria.

My dad didn't understand how his tomato boy became an international Eru merchant. I made several trips to Nigeria, made money and created a network; but of utmost importance, I learned from Nigerians how to build on people.

I must not be the first to start anything, but I can work on default templates created by others.
There was a woman in Nigeria that I noticed. Her daily routine was to cook fufu in her store in the market. She only had to cook fufu, and she did so effectively in huge quantities.

There were other stores selling different types of soups. The soup stores buy fufu from the woman. At the end of the day, they all go home super happy to have earned their daily bread.

Until Cameroonians create a culture of genuine cooperation, support and engagement, we will never experience the joy of collective success. Hmmm, this is getting long already, and Cameroonians also hate reading.
