Karuna Rescue

Our hearts are heavy after the tragedy in Bondi last Sunday. We grieve for every life lost, every family shattered, and a community left in pain by something that should never have happened. As an organisation with Australian roots — one of our founders Australian — this loss is felt deeply.
One quiet moment that stayed with us was Maui, a Bernese Mountain Dog, standing beside his fallen owner. Not as a story to eclipse human loss, but as a small reflection of loyalty, love, and presence in the darkest of moments.
At Karuna, compassion means standing with suffering — human and animal alike. Today, and always, our hearts are with the people whose lives were taken and with everyone who is grieving. 🤍
