TOUR - Cattle Auction House Tour / Ecological Walking Trails 15/05/2014

Learn where your beef comes from before it is exported to the world markets and how the Cattle Auction works from the ground up, with a complete Tour of the offices, corrals & grounds. Simulate a Cattle Auction where you are the Buyer, then the Auctioneer. Walk the back of the Ranch where the Rain Forest and River has Naturally taken back what was once a Teak Plantation and Date Palm Plantation, creating a Swamp Forest area with great Biodiversity of Plant life, Birds, Reptiles and Animals. Look for our 10ft Crocodile in the Lagoon Pond. Includes a typical meal and drink after your tour, in the Famous Vaquero Pobre - the Poor Cowboys Tavern, where the Bar Top is a History of the Old Chiquita Banana Company. See the Hand Oil Painted Mural Walls inside the Poor Cowboys Tavern with 20,000 bottle caps and over 4,000 beer bottles for windows - The Wall of Parrita & walk through the Old 1901 Train Caboose left over from Chiquita Banana Co., when it started here in the Parrita area, over 100 years ago! Eat a typical “Casado” lunch/Dinner to top it off. Perfect for the entire family!

TOUR - Sunset Beach Horse Back Ride, Bonfire and Beach BBQ 14/05/2014

Meet your horses on the beach of Bandera, Parrita. Get a quick lesson in horseback riding, then Ride for 1.5 hours along the sand palm coast, as the sun is setting. Upon Sunset, our guides will cook you up a BBQ dinner of Costa Rica beef steak shish cabob or chicken kabobs, with vegetables & fresh cut native fruits. Drink fresh Coconut milk right out of the Coconut. After dinner enjoy a Bonfire Fireside chat of the history of Parrita and Chiquita Banana along with some fun activity games & enjoy a desert of chocolate marsh mellow Smores-great for the entire family! Learn about the Palo Seco Turtle Reserve, its purpose, function and ability to participate in releasing or saving Turtle eggs. Learn about the Lora Turtle (Olive ridley/Pacific ridley Sea Turtle), that hatches on this beach, (Nesting season in late September through early January – (see Turtle Reserve Participation Expedition Tour for more details). Need no riding experience. Guide is always with you to assist you if needed. (We offer a pony and small horse for younger people, upon request at booking, for no additional charge). Bring your camera for this beautiful picturesque Sunset. Ride Horses with long pants & closed toed shoes). (Tour time is total of 4 hours)
