FLIGHT VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR RAFFAELA
✈️✈️✈️ SAN JOSÉ TO NEW YORK ✈️✈️✈️
SJO to JFK / Newark — anytime soon
Raffaella is looking for a flight volunteer from San José Airport to New York or New Jersey.
She is a sweet kitten who befriended a tourist couple during their vacation in Costa Rica. They totally fell in love with her and decided to adopt her, but unfortunately there was not enough time to arrange her travel before their return flight.
Charlie’s Angels stepped in to help with the logistics, and Raffaella is now ready to travel. She is spayed, vaccinated, and has all her paperwork completed.
Important: We do not pay for the flight ticket of the flight volunteer. That is why we are looking for someone who is already flying from Costa Rica to New York / New Jersey and would be willing to take Raffaella along as a pet in cabin.
There are no costs involved for the flight volunteer. We cover the pet fee and help with the whole process.
Raffaella will travel in a small airline-approved carry-on bag. A driver will bring her to the airport in San José, and her new family will be waiting for her when she arrives in New York.
We have done this many times and know exactly how the procedure works.
Please get in touch if you can help.
Please fill out our Flight Angel application on our website. This is the easiest way for us to keep track:

Our latest spay and neuter clinic took us all the way to Longo Mai, in the province of Buenos Aires — a loooong trip for our volunteers, but absolutely worth it.
In total, 59 animals were operated on YAY!
This community is far away from veterinary services, and a clinic like this was urgently needed. Many people there simply do not have easy access to affordable spay and neuter options.
Dr. Ligia and her team worked hand in hand with the volunteers from Charlie’s Angels, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Days like this take a lot of planning, driving, organizing, cleaning, helping, explaining, and patience — but when everyone works together, it makes such a difference...
We are especially grateful that our partner rescue in Toronto, Save Our Scruff who once again sponsored 50% of all surgeries!
Because of their support, we were able to offer this clinic at half price, which meant a lot to the families who brought their dogs and cats.🙏🏼
Now the sad statistics:
Out of 59 animals, only 6 were males... 🥺
This shows us once again that in many people still believe that sterilization is mostly the responsibility of the pet owners of females, because they are the ones who get pregnant... :(
But the reality is: males are a huge part of the problem.
Lets say...a female dog can usually have around two litters per year, with an average of about 4–6 puppies per litter. That means one female could have roughly 8–12 puppies in one year.
But ONE unneutered male can impregnate many females. If he mates with say 10 females in one year (which is very possible), he could be responsible for 40–60 puppies.
If it is 20 females, that number could become 80–120 puppies.
So yes, spaying females is incredibly important. But neutering males is just as important if we really want to reduce unwanted litters, suffering, abandonment, and preventable disease.
Thank you to everyone who made this clinic possible — Dr. Ligia and her team, our Charlie’s Angels volunteers, Save Our Scruff, and the people of Longo Mai who showed up for their animals.
Our upcoming spay and neuter clinic will be held PUEBLO NUEVO DE RIVAS on Sunday the 28th of June.
More info on that will follow soon! 🙏🏼🌸🤸🏻♀️
