Film prati trojicu braće Jelić koji se rađaju i odrastaju zajedno sa novom Jugoslavijom, 1940-ih godina. Epsko, ali istovremeno i duboko intimno ostvarenje, kreativno koristi arhivski materijal i do sada neobjavljivane Super 8 filmove da bi ispričao priču o trajanju, ljubavi i borbi.

U Teksasu, 1892. Dezerter Elajdža Džons je kidnapovao i drži kao taoca Rejčel Prajs, finu ženu iz dobre porodice. Njen muž angažuje čuvenog lovca Maksa Borlenda da je vrati nazad u Teksas. Za to vreme, opasni revolveraš Džo Kribens izlazi iz zatvora i želi da se osveti onima koji su ga poslali iza rešetaka, a ispostavlja se da je Maks jedan od njih.
