The little chapel of Ayioi Anargyroi Chapel is one of the most photographed places in Cyprus.
The chapel is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian, twin brothers who treated the sick for free. The name “Anargyroi” literally means “without silver” or “without money”.
One local tradition claims that while travelling by sea, the saints were caught in a storm and their boat was swept into the cave below the cliff. The cave later became a place of worship, and the chapel was eventually built above it.
