Yes, we know… that’s super fast, not even 2 months have passed 😅, BUT hey, that’s ultrarunner speed. If you wanted things quicker, you’d probably be running a 5K or 10K, NOT 100K 😉

⚠️ A Last-Minute Change – And a Beautiful Outcome

At the very last moment, we were not allowed to host the Cyprus Backyard Ultra at Oroklini due to government restrictions.

It was a challenging situation, but thanks to a huge contribution from Ektoras Agathokleous we were able to quickly find and prepare an alternative route.

🌲 And what a route it turned out to be.
Rizoelia National Forest Park offered a beautiful, challenging, and worthy Backyard course, one that truly delivered the spirit of the race.

All athletes have been recorded with 24 hours in the roster, counting toward national team selection for the World Team Championships on the Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra:

📈 A growing ultra community in Cyprus

This year, 70 athletes covered 46 km+ (7+ loops)
➡️ 2025: 39 athletes
➡️ 2024: 11 athletes
➡️ 1st CBU: 9 athletes

An incredible upward trend.

With this participation, CBU 2026 was likely the biggest ultra race in Cyprus, and certainly the one with the highest number of athletes reaching ultramarathon distance.

A huge congratulations to everyone who stepped into the yard and pushed their limits.

There is only one rule in the Backyard:

When the bell rings… you must be in the starting corral.

📢 CBU 2026 – Important Update!

The demand this year has been unbelievable, thank you all! 🙌🔥

Due to the extremely high interest and the fact that registrations filled so quickly, we are currently exploring the possibility of increasing the participant limit from 75 to 90 athletes for the Cyprus Backyard Ultra 2026.

We kindly ask for a little patience 🙏
Over the next couple of weeks, until the end of the month, we’ll be confirming which currently registered athletes may cancel or withdraw, so we can determine the final number of available spots.
