On 6 March 2026, our lab had the pleasure of visiting Mathiatis Primary School for a special event dedicated to cybersafety. The school brought together students, parents, and educators to explore how we can stay safe online. We were also delighted to welcome the Primary School of Kampos, a unique school with just two students and one teacher, who joined the event and shared their work.

Students from both schools presented their cybersafety projects, including a creative video and an interactive escape game designed to raise awareness about online safety.

At our station, we engaged students and parents in hands-on activities focused on social media safety. Participants played a game to identify cybersafety threats in social media content, tested the strength of passwords, and tried an interactive tool that teaches how to create strong and secure passwords. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore our Cybersafety Family Advice Suite (CFAS) tools.

We also shared information about the Cybersafety project and its offerings, and highlighted the important work of the MedDMO project in combating disinformation.

To wrap up the day, several students tested the CFAS tools and participated in the evaluation survey.

A big thank you to the event organizers, the dedicated teachers, the supportive parents, and especially our young participants—our little friends who are eager not only to learn about cybersafety but also to help teach it! 👏💻🔐

This activity was co-funded by the European Union through the CYberSafety and MedDMO projects.

We couldn’t miss the Safer Internet Day event organised by the Pedagogical Institute! 🎉💻

More than 100 students of different ages stopped by our station to learn how to stay safe online — in a fun and interactive way!

Participants:
🔎 Detected online threats through games acting on behalf of our Cybersafety Family Advice Suite tools (check them out here: https://encase.socialcomputing.eu/cfas)
🎯 Played a quiz on cybersafety settings and best practices
🔐 Learned how to create strong and secure passwords

A big thank you to the event organizers and to our colleagues Dr. Panagiotis Ilia and Pantelitsa Leonidou for representing our lab and university so enthusiastically! 👏

This activity is co-funded by the EU-funded CYberSafety Project. 🇪🇺
