Mensa Cyprus event today, Sunday 15 June 2025 in Limassol 🇨🇾 It will start at 11:30 am with a Business Meeting - Review and Future Plans, at The Grammar Junior School, Manoli Kalomoiri, 3030 Limassol, for members of Mensa Cyprus only, and will continue with a luncheon meeting at 1:30 pm at the "Dasoudi" restaurant, Dasoudi beach, for members and their guests. Eivind Olsen the Mensa International Director of Development who, by coincidence, is visiting Cyprus this weekend, has consequently been invited to attend.

THE MENSA FOUNDATION'S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 📚🎓

The Foundation’s scholarship program bases its awards totally on 550-word essays written by the applicants explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals.

The "Ed Vincent international scholarship" provides funds for international students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in the United States. Eligibility is limited to Mensa members (except American Mensa members) or children/dependents of members.

The "Mensa international scholarships" provide funds for international students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in a country other than the United States. Eligibility is limited to Mensa members (except American Mensa).

Applications must be submitted online on or before 11:59 p.m., CST (Central Standard Time) January 15, 2025, or 05:59 a.m. GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), on January 16, 2025.

RESULTS OF THE MENSA WORLD PHOTOCUP COMPETITION 2024 🏆

The winner of the PhotoCup competition 2024 and "Mensa International Photographer of the Year" is Alessandro Moser of Mensa Switzerland, for his spectacular photo, "Fireball", below. Many congratulations Alessandro!

Alessandro Moser, a passionate many-award winning photographer, has written a few words especially for us on the occasion of his PhotoCup award, that we are happy and honored to publish on our Mensa Cyprus Page:

"This has been my first PhotoCup ever. That's why I feel so honored to be this year's winner. Even though I'm not a professional photographer, I've always pursued my passion for aviatic and art. 2024 has been a very successful year in the national and international market for me to establish. For my future my wish is to live from my art. For the Mensa PhotoCup I like to see more members to express themselves through photography, even if they're not professionals."

Alessandro is currently working on becoming self-employed in the field of art and photography. He has already been able to put his website Spotty-graphy.com online, and has also images on Instagram .

Congratulations also to this year's runners-up, in 2nd place: Punkaj Gupta of Mensa India for "Fire Dance", and in 3rd place: Gerry Steyn of Mensa South Africa for "Destruction", and thanks to all the entrants!

The theme of the 2024 PhotoCup competition was "FIRE".
