Week one of my street art residency at the amazing in London, Ontario is done.
I arrived with clear production plans and a vision of how everything “should” unfold… and then Mother Nature stepped in with snow, rain, and the full Ontario fall chaos. Being pulled out of my comfort zone has challenged every part of my routine — but strangely, it’s also cracked things open.
Even in the cold, the damp, and the unexpected, I’m finding new sparks of inspiration and new ways to paint.
Pushing through, adapting, and staying optimistic. Onwards. Thankful for the support team including and friends. The photos include the wall I am painting and my studio space. We shall overcome!

David Strauzz, který působí na pomezí street artu a konceptuálního malířství, se ve své nové výstavě zaměřuje na vrstvení vizuálních i osobních identit v kontextu současného městského prostoru. Pomocí kombinace plakátů, typografie, spreje a abrazivních technik vytváří dynamické obrazy, které reflektují témata anonymity, paměti a společenského otisku.

Výstava nabídne nejen velkoformátová plátna, ale i site-specific instalace připravené přímo pro prostory OMGM. Umělec tímto způsobem rozvíjí dialog mezi galerií jako institucionálním rámcem a ulicí jako autentickým prostorem svobody a experimentu.

David Strauzz, who works on the border between street art and conceptual painting, focuses in his new exhibition on the layering of visual and personal identities in the context of contemporary urban space. Using a combination of posters, typography, spray and abrasive techniques, he creates dynamic images that reflect the themes of anonymity, memory and social imprint.

The exhibition will offer not only large-format canvases, but also site-specific installations prepared specifically for the OMGM premises. In this way, the artist develops a dialogue between the gallery as an institutional framework and the street as an authentic space of freedom and experiment.

"Fragments of identity are not only about what we show the world, but also about what we hide from it. Layers of color and time reveal and conceal at the same time," says David Strauzz about his work.
