History of the village Lidice 28/05/2024

On the way to Prague, we visited the Lidice Memorial. This solemn site commemorates the lives lost during World War II, giving us a profound and emotional reminder of the impact of history on our present and future.
On June 10, 1942, the village of Lidice, located near Prague, was completely destroyed by N**i forces in retaliation for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, a high-ranking N**i official. Men were executed, women were sent to concentration camps, and children were ripped from their mothers arms.
Today, Lidice is a symbol of wartime suffering and resilience. The site includes a memorial and a museum dedicated to preserving the memory of the victims and educating future generations about the impact of hate and violence.

“Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.” Edmund Burke

History of the village Lidice Keeps lasting memory of the annihilation of Lidice, which was razed to the ground by the German N**i, June 10, 1942.
