Funny how some rejections end up leading you exactly where you’re meant to be.

A few years ago, during my last years of architecture school, I was working for a high-end real estate company.

I wanted that job so badly.

I worked hard, stayed late, did everything I could to prove myself.

Then, on my very last day, at 6 p.m., my boss sat me down and told me I wasn’t “good enough”.

I remember walking away feeling like a complete failure.

At the time, it felt devastating.

Looking back, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

That moment forced me to ask myself what I actually wanted.

And the answer wasn’t a corporate career in real estate.

Almost six years later, I’ve lived on two continents, built my business from the ground up, and today I make a living doing something that feels aligned with who I am.

The funny thing is that if I’d gotten the job I wanted so badly, I probably wouldn’t have the life I have now.

So if you’re going through a rejection, a setback, or a closed door right now…

Trust the detour.

Sometimes life isn’t taking something away from you.
