One of the main reasons why people join Toastmasters is to become good at public speaking.
But, at Goood Morning Toastmasters, we want people to become 𝘎𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵!

“𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘎𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵!”was the topic chosen by Adolfo – our Toastmaster of the day – in one of our last meetings to remind us that in March we renew our memberships; and to reflect about why we joined the club and how we benefited from being part of it.

Club members and guests shared their experience, and then it was time for the prepared speeches:

Anna delivered a speech called “Learning To Fly”. A self-improvement story to show how to overcome difficulties in life.

Then, Alen talked about the importance of public speaking. During his speech called “Let Me Reintroduce Myself”, he surprised all of us including the “A.L.E.N.” communication framework, and demonstrated how to include it into our speeches.

And on his speech called “The World Before Tech”, Jakub reflected on the use of technology and how it changed our lives. Introducing his concept “Bubble trouble”, he presented us things that worked – and others that didn’t – to use technology better.


Harm was the Table Topic Master, and gave to our brave volunteers some pictures to improvise 1-2 minute speeches about them:

➡️ Katka talked about a book that inspired her to get from goood to grrreat.
➡️ Leos reflected on a moment of his life when he realized that goood was good enough.
➡️ Sandra shared which future greatness she is looking for.

Few days ago we celebrated our Club Contest at Goood Morning Toastmasters, led by Anna, where participants competed in two categories: International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest.

Here is Tosin's review of it:

The speech contest was tight, we had two speeches that were relatable, actionable and memorable. Thor and Štěpán shared personal stories, full of passion.

The Evaluation contest started by an enthralling speech and performance by Safiyya, who engaged us through her entire speech. A perfect speech for our contestants to evaluate.

First was Tomáš. He was smooth, sophisticate and evaluated the entire speech without notes.

Second was Thor, he engaged us with humour and followed the Toastmasters format of 321 for evaluation, delivering a master class turning an evaluation into a mini speech.


Third was Štěpán for me personally, this was one of his best performances I’ve seen at the club… Very professional and straight to the point, no wasted conversations.


Fourth was Harm, who for me was the surprise of all the evaluators because he was Original and very aware by noticing something critical that other contestants didn’t.

The Fifth contestant was Manish, who gave us a consistent and efficient evaluation. As a friend who’s responsible for me being at the club, I challenge him to move from the safety of evaluations to the main speech contest for next year.

And for the final contestant we have Urzala, who gave her first ever evaluation at the club as a contest…. What a brave Soul! No one could tell, it was her first ever evaluation.

The top two contestants in each category advance to the Area Contest, where winners from multiple clubs from Prague will face off, on Saturday 14th March.

What a captivating meeting!

“𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘉𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨” was the topic chosen by Alen – our Toastmaster of the day – in our last meeting to remind us the famous scene from the movie “𝘎𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘎𝘭𝘦𝘯 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘴”… and that selling and living is pretty much the same thing.

Then it was time for the prepared speeches:

Harm delivered a speech called “𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘐𝘔𝘗𝘈𝘊𝘛”. Inspired by our club member Tosin and his IMPACT framework, Harm shared some of his learnings from his +25 year career leading people.

And Adolfo presented the “𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘊𝘭𝘶𝘣 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘖𝑝𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨”; explaining how members and clubs can benefit from a mentorship, including key moments of his Toastmasters journey being mentored by Thor and mentoring Karolína and Ben.

We also celebrated that three of our members achieved to complete levels on their pathways!
Anna completed level 1, Štěpán level 3 and Adolfo level 4.

What a way to inspire new and experienced members to keep progressing!

➡️ Tomáš used a kangaroo to remind us that different people perceive things differently.
➡️ Harm got inspired by a basecamp, and shared the difference between being asocial and introverted.
