GOMUN

Our Story

Model United Nations (or MUN) is a student simulation of the UN, entirely in the English language. There are hundreds of MUN conferences around the world including the Czech Republic.

High school students represent delegates of countries of the UN and try to solve world’s issues in committees designed according to real UN committees (Security Council, Human Rights Council, etc). There are approx. 20 delegates in each GOMUN committee and their agenda is set in advance.

The final resolutions of the committees are afterwards presented and voted upon in the General Assembly (like in the real UN).

The whole event has its formal elaborated rules, be it the dress code or the rules of the debate.

Thousands of middle school, high school, and college students across the world participate in Model United Nations, which involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

GOMUN conference takes place in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic GOMUN is organised by students from Gymnázium Omská, themselves already skilled delegates.
