He had one of Europe’s most iconic bridges built. Made Prague an imperial capital & Central Europe’s spiritual centre. 👑 Today we mark 710th anniversary of Charles IV’s birth: the Emperor & King who made Prague an earthly picture of the Heavenly Jerusalem.

From Europe & beyond, he had remains of saints & other relics brought together, those that would become part of the St Vitus treasure. He imprinted a sign of cross into the New Town foundations, marked out by five churches.

Set off for a walk on his legacy 👣 across the bridge bearing his name & guarded by thirty statues & sculptural groups of the saints. 🏰 It connects Prague Castle with Vyšehrad, Lesser Town with Old Town but also the glorious history with the modern & dynamic contemporary.
