🏘️ Šluknov is preparing to transform one of the largest socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic with the help of EU funding.
The town plans to apply for CZK 200 million from the Just Transformation Operational Program to buy apartment buildings on the housing estate and gain greater control over its future. Authorities say the project must also include long-term social work with residents.
Critics have warned that local Romani residents must be involved and that tenants’ rights must be protected.

🇳🇴 Norway is again debating a stand-alone action plan to combat antigypsyism.
Experts, Romani people and several politicians say members of the Romanifolk/Tatere minority and other Romani people in Norway face long-term discrimination — including in contact with authorities, housing, shops and restaurants.
Supporters argue that general anti-racism plans are not enough and that antigypsyism must be addressed specifically.

⚠️ ERRC warns of a “second wave of exclusion” affecting refugee Roma Ukrainian children in education.
The European Roma Rights Centre has filed complaints with equality bodies in Czechia, Hungary, Moldova and Romania, saying that Roma children fleeing the war in Ukraine often remain outside the school system despite formal guarantees of access to education.
The organization points to systemic anti-Roma racism, language barriers, lack of support and fear of bullying as major obstacles.
