🟢 recent events 🔵

Thank you for coming and supporting our events this summer — it’s been a joy to engage with such a wide-spanning group of artists, writers, and thinkers. 🟢

Over the past few months, we’ve hosted book launches, readings, and panel discussions, including the launch of Aurelia Guo’s 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘴, the 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 Issue 21, and Susan Finlay’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘑𝘢𝘤𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘓𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 🔵These events have been enriched with readings by Mira Mattar and conversations with Estelle Hoy, and Stephanie LaCava. 🟢

We’ve also had the pleasure of organizing poetry readings with the SAOT Festival featuring Tracy Fuad and Christian Hawkey, and with the UK based founder and authors of the87press. 🟢

We are already planning our fall calendar and we are excited to welcome you again in our events — stay tuned for more information on our website and IG.

🔵 book highlight: 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳 🟡

From “Beginning” to “Death,” 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳 provides over 60 short essays and narrations illustrating the ethical polarities and incongruent make up of revolution – from the first encounter between Aztec emperor Motecuhzoma and Spanish colonizer Cortés to excerpts from the 𝘚𝘤𝘶𝘮 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰. 🔵These 1160 pages, including unanswered questions by Robertson and Stadler and a conceptual bibliography by Brazil, cast a heterogeneous constellation on the history and possible thought of a revolution. 🟡

🟤press highlight: MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE 🟢

After purchasing a hundred ISBNs, artist and writer Sharon Kivland launched the non-profit project MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE. 🟤Based in the UK, the press aims to deliver “light but serious” texts by writers, artists, and thinkers dedicated to blurring the limits between writing and reading.🟤

🟢Their collection includes creative experiments on 20th century theory like the 𝘙𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘺, fragmented memories in 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴, meticulously descriptive first person in 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴’ short fiction, and re-imagined histories in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘌𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘪𝘯.

🟢You can find these titles among others at a.p. Follow the link in bio to explore our catalogue or come by the store to pick up a copy.
