Music For Identity gUG is happy to collaborate with Reclaim – Ecofeminist Alliance e.V. as part of the Seeding Freedom Festival 30.05.2026.
Join us for an interactive Kurdish music performance led by the renowned multidisciplinary artist Hêja Netirk .netirk
Through collective singing, rhythm, and traditional dances, the session invites the audience into a shared musical experience where everyone becomes part of the performance.
Open to all ages and musical backgrounds. You’re welcome to sing, dance, play along, or simply enjoy the performance. Feel free to bring your own instruments and be part of the collective musical experience.

Gemeinsam mit MitMachMusik Berlin e.V. laden wir Jugendliche von 10 bis 18 Jahren zu einem besonderen Workshop-Wochenende rund um Musik aus der anatolischen Region ein.

Ufuk Elik, Kurdische Musik
Die Workshops richten sich an junge Menschen, die gerne singen oder ein Instrument spielen, unabhängig vom musikalischen Niveau. Wichtig sind vor allem Neugier, Offenheit und Lust, gemeinsam Musik zu machen und Neues auszuprobieren.

Es gibt nur 10 offene Plätze für externe Teilnehmende aus Berlin.

Mevan Younes is a composer and buzuq player from Al-Hasakah, Syria. He began learning music at a young age from his father, with a strong foundation in Kurdish musical traditions.
He later studied at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus under Prof. Askar Ali Akbar, where he also worked as a buzuq teacher. Mevan has performed internationally at festivals such as Morgenland Festival and Roskilde Festival, and is a member of the Syrian Arab National Orchestra.
Since 2015, he is based in Berlin, where he continues his work as a performer and educator, active in various ensembles including the Ugarit Trio and the Berlin Orient Ensemble.
