New publication 'Corona und die journalistische Bildkommunikation. Praktiken und Diskurse des Visuellen‘
While it is not yet foreseeable when the pandemic will end, five lecturers from the "Photojournalism and Documentary Photography" degree programme have joined forces and contributed their expertise to publish the anthology 'Corona und die journalistische Bildkommunikation. Praktiken und Diskurse des Visuellen‘.
Starting point of the publication is that visuality in journalism is produced by different practices of different actors. How this happened under the conditions of the COVID-19 crisis and which discourses on images developed as a result is addressed in the publication in a mixture of academic essays and interviews.
The volume brings together contributions by Karen Fromm and Anna Stemmler as part of the [IMAGE MATTERS] team and also by Lars Bauernschmitt, Michael Hauri, Felix Koltermann, as well as interviews with photojournalist Christian Mang and Julius Tröger, Head of Visual Journalism at ZEIT Online. The book is available in both print and e-book.
