🌊 NERITES participated in the Green Heritage Cluster Webinar “From Heritage Data to Heritage Intelligence: Early Results from European Cultural Heritage Monitoring Projects”, held online on 30 June 2026.

The webinar brought together NERITES, ARGUS, ChemiNova and IPhotoCult Project to exchange early results, methodologies and experiences in cultural heritage monitoring.

💠 The discussion highlighted how heritage data, digital technologies and cross-sector collaboration can support the monitoring, understanding and long-term protection of cultural heritage.

For NERITES, the webinar was also an opportunity to underline the importance of connecting underwater cultural heritage monitoring with wider protection needs, environmental pressures and the policy frameworks required to support its preservation.

The NERITES project was proudly featured at the European Maritime Day 2026, held in Limassol, Cyprus, bringing together the European maritime community to exchange ideas, explore collaborations and discuss the future of the sustainable blue economy.

Represented by Atlantis Consulting, NERITES had the opportunity to connect with professionals, policymakers, researchers and stakeholders working across marine innovation, conservation, cultural heritage and community engagement.

🌊 NERITES at the ChemiNova Summer School 2026

The NERITES project was invited to participate in the ChemiNova Summer School 2026, held from 9 to 12 June 2026 in hybrid format.

On 11 June 2026, Elena Tilegrafou from Atlantis Consulting presented NERITES and its work on the systematic, autonomous remote surveying of Underwater Cultural Heritage monuments and artefacts, using non-destructive, cost-effective, and transportable digital solutions.

The presentation highlighted NERITES’ approach to autonomous monitoring, advanced sensing technologies, AI-supported image processing, and upcoming pilot demonstrations in Fournoi, Greece, and Baia, Italy.

This activity also represents an important synergetic action between NERITES and ChemiNova, both members of the Green Heritage Cluster, strengthening collaboration around cultural heritage monitoring, digital innovation, and environmental resilience.

Thank you to the ChemiNova team for the invitation and for creating a valuable space for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

🌊 NERITES at HERITECHNE International Conference 2026
The NERITES project was presented at the HERITECHNE International Conference 2026, held in L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, from 10 to 12 June 2026.

During the conference, Carlotta Sacco Perasso presented the contribution:
“Process-Oriented Vulnerability Modeling for Underwater Cultural Heritage: From Structured Diagnosis to Parametric Degradation Indices”.

The presentation took place within the Special Session “Emerging Technologies for the Documentation, Conservation, and Promotion of Underwater Cultural Heritage”, highlighting innovative approaches for the assessment, monitoring, and protection of underwater cultural heritage.

The contribution was authored by Barbara Davidde, Antonio Lagudi, Carlotta Sacco Perasso, and Fabio Bruno.

A great opportunity for NERITES to share its work with the international cultural heritage community and contribute to the discussion on emerging technologies for underwater heritage conservation.
