ABBA's avatar show wasn't a gimmick. It sold over a million tickets and changed live music.

I was skeptical, too. Digital band, no humans on stage, arena prices? Sounded like a one-off stunt. It isn't. Fans travel across countries for it and rebook.

Now KISS is copying the model for their post-farewell era. And it might actually fit them.

We already carry KISS in our heads. The Demon. The fire. The face paint. You don't need a hyper-real avatar, the icon is already burned in. The visual job is half done.

So it all comes down to the sound. How immersive it is.

KISS was never only a "looks" band. They were a wall of sound you felt in your chest.
If the avatar roars like Madison Square Garden did, people buy it for 20 years.
But if it sounds like a video with music on top, the illusion dies in half a second.

The image is the easy part. The sound is the whole bet.
