The PDP listening lesson, my favourite lesson , as some would name it " I listen nd do" , " do " means the learner answers the questions based on the audio scripted listened to .
And the questions goes from simple to kinda hard ones. The script must be about and related to the sequence and should be simple, medium in length and containing the resources installed " lexis / grammar points " , the script d better be prepared by the teacher for better understanding. Teachers may rely on the book but be careful of the length thus try to adopt and adapt, be autonomous. I personally kick off the ball of this listening lesson by sticking some pictures to give my learners a hint of course after discussing about out sequence topic, I sometimes display a video for them containing the subject we are going to conduct. then I create a contextual situation to present my listening audio, I reckon you read first for your learners 3 times or you can use a meduim for that ( pc, speakers, mp4 reader) , I prefer to read for my learners to the sake of c . The during listening tasks can be lexical " synonyms and opposite of words" or " I listen and choose the right answer " , " I listen and answer with true or false " , and why not answering some yes/no and wh questions. The difficulty of the questions is dependent on the level of your learners. The post listening questions should be productive or communicative, productive in the sense that they write sth using ; communicative in the sense tht may complete a dialogue and act it out to communicate and practise the language; yet you have many tasks choices because you are the master of your lesson but I strongly recommend that you use simple lesson plan and simple audio script so that your learners will be able to listen understand, and interpret to reach your objective successfully.

Note : It is not wise to complicate things for nd for your learners bcz that will work against you nd against reaching your Objective....

The listening lesson is not about to brag how great is your English but rather to improve your learners listening Skill....

You don't have to give them more than 3 or 4 tasks, give them time to listen well, think nd work together.

Use flashcards, videos, games nd gestures.
