🌿 A new step for nature conservation in Wawazonia
In February 2026, we received a donation of four wildlife cameras, a PC, and funding for training, enabling the local Shuar community to install and operate the equipment themselves in the rainforest.
Today, I received the first images from the initial 14 days – and it looks very promising. It will be exciting to follow what is moving through the forest.
Wawazonia holds some of the most biodiverse rainforest on the planet. The new cameras now give us the opportunity to document some of the shy and fascinating species that are rarely seen.
When companies donate trees to the project, they contribute both directly and indirectly to preserving the untouched rainforest surrounding the communities – while also creating local income opportunities that reduce the pressure from illegal logging.
This is conservation in practice – rooted in local ownership. 🌱
