Runosong is a style of folk singing and an oral poetic tradition that has been practiced for centuries by Baltic Finnic peoples in the land now called Estonia and elsewhere in the region.

Working with the archives Vaim Sarv has found diverse ways of life linked to runosong that stand squarely at odds with normative, Eurocentric conceptions of selfhood, ecology, gender, and even knowledge.

Setomaa on põline setode asuala, mis jääb tänapäeval nii Eesti kui ka Venemaa alale. Ketlin Kuusing veetis lapsepõlvesuved Jatsmani külas oma vanavanaema kodus, mis asub Saatsest umbes kuue kilomeetri kaugusel idas, Venemaa territooriumil. Näitus “Ema Tuba” puudutas perekonnalugusid, mälestusi ja nüüdseks ületamatuid piire.

Setomaa is the ancestral land of the Seto people, which today spans both Estonian and Russian territory. Ketlin Kuusing spent her childhood summers in the village of Jatsmani at her great-grandmother’s home, located about six kilometres east, within Russian territory. The exhibiton “Mother’s room” dwelled on family heritage, memories and now impassable borders.
