Giving support to a breast cancer patient 💕

Knowing how to help can be empowering when everything and every day feels overwhelming.

Asking the patient "how can I help you?" is important. And by taking the initiative and offering specific help, you might be able to provide even more support.

Things you might want to offer to help include 👇 :

• Cleaning and vacuuming
• Clothes washing and ironing
• Cooking meals for freezing
• Transport to and from hospital appointments
• Taking children to or from school
• Babysitting

Breast reconstruction can have significant psychological and physical benefits for patients.

The fastest form of breast reconstruction is known as DTI (direct-to-implant).

With this procedure, a patient has a mastectomy and a new breast created in the same procedure.

This can have significant psychological benefits as well as a potential quicker recovery versus other methods of reconstruction.

If you are considering breast reconstruction, please ask your surgeon if DTI is an option for you.
