For immediate hiring, we are looking for a Junior Civil Technical Office Engineer to join our team.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 0–2 years of experience
• Good knowledge of technical office tasks (shop drawings, quantity take-off, BOQs)
• Familiar with AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)
• Basic understanding of construction methods and materials
• Good communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review shop drawings
• Assist in quantity take-offs and cost estimation
• Coordinate with site and design teams
• Support technical documentation and reports

Contra is currently hiring Senior Civil Technical Office Engineer, Job description includes
• Provide all the required technical documents such as drawings, manuals and instructions for the construction team.
• Conduct quantity surveying for all executed work.
• Prepare and follow up the documentation for claims and variation orders.
• Ensure that all drawings, documentation and records in use are reviewed, approved by the consultant.
• Prepare monthly and weekly update reports presenting the current situation of the work done.
• Prepare procurement plan for the new projects and follow up on the procurement plan to ensure meeting the project budget.
• Prepare shop drawings if required.

Job Requirements
• bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office & AutoCAD
• 4 to 7 years of experience in technical office
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Contra is so proud to be a part of one of the world’s Mega projects, The Grand Egyptian Museum project as it is a building of rare complexity. Challenges included a massive roof slab in white concrete, span up to 40 meters, a huge folded cover slab. Its dimensions, its complexity and its slopes represented a triple challenge for engineers. A way had to be found to produce these extraordinarily complex concrete structures with an extreme level of precision, to ensure the perfect alignment of the underside of the roof and its suspended ceilings.
Due to some complications during the construction of the top pre-stressed slab and to assure serviceability of the slabs, it was required to strengthen the folded cover PT slabs using special CFRP sheets from both top and bottom of slabs
Contra faced 2 challenges that were fulfilled during the strengthening works
• Working from the bottom of slab at a height exceeding 30 meters; taking into consideration that strengthening shouldn’t be visible by the end of the works as the slab is totally exposed to the visitors.
• Working from the top of the slab : it was required to increase the durability of the strengthening system to accommodate the high temperature results from the sunlight. This was achieved through out using a special designated heating system to heat up the area to 80 °C for one week.
Our work was awarded the Best Global Engineering project in 2018 by “Sika Switzerland”.
