ومن هنا بدأت فكرة البودكاست.

"موعد مع" هو بودكاست سينمائي لسينما زاوية، بنتكلم فيه عن أفلام قريبة مننا، بنفكر فيها دايمًا، ونحب نشاركها وأسئلتنا تجاهها مع جمهور أوسع.

كل موسم بنختار فيلم واحد نعيد اكتشافه فى ست حلقات. مساحة حوار مفتوحة بين يمنى وكريم، وأحيانًا مع ضيوف من مجالات مختلفة، نحاول نفهم فيها الأفلام بشكل أقرب ونشارك المشاعر والأفكار اللي بتسيبها جوانا بعد المشاهدة.

حلقة جديدة مرتين في الشهر يوم السبت على جميع المنصات، وبالتوازي هيكون فيه عروض عامة للأفلام المختارة في السينما.
نسمع ونتفرج ونرجع نتكلم.

Not every film ends with the final credits… some stay with us long after, opening up questions and conversations we keep returning to.

“A Date With” is a cinema podcast by Zawya Cinema, where we revisit films that stay close to us and share the questions they leave behind.

Each season, we rediscover one film across six episodes through conversations between Yomna and Karim, alongside guests from different fields.

New episodes drop twice a month on Saturdays across all platforms, alongside public screenings of the selected films at the cinema.

في هذا الفيلم، يحوّل ماكس أوبهولس زوج من الأقراط الماسية إلى موقع تتلاقى فيه الرغبة مع الطبقة والذاكرة. بتصويره الانسيابي وبنيته السردية الفريدة والآسرة، يعتبر «حَلَق السيدة …» أحد أعظم أفلام الميلودراما وأكثرها تأثيرًا في تاريخ السينما.

يأتي عرض الفيلم ضمن برنامجنا الاستعادي لأفلام يوسف شاهين المبكرة، حيث تتقاطع سينما أوبهولس مع شاهين في اهتمامهما بالحركة والمشاعر المكبوتة والعلاقات التي تعيد تشكيل مصائر أصحابها. وكما عند شاهين، لا تنفصل الرومانسية هنا عن المجتمع، ولا يصبح الحب ممكنًا إلا بثمن.

In a film revolving around a pair of diamond earrings, Max Ophüls transforms a seemingly small object into a record of desire, class, memory, and regret. Through fluid camera movements and an exquisitely circular structure, The Earrings of Madame de… remains one of the defining masterpieces of cinematic melodrama.

Presented as part of our retrospective of early Youssef Chahine films, Ophuls’s cinema resonates deeply with Chahine’s own fascination with movement, emotional repression, and relationships that quietly alter the course of people’s lives. As in Chahine’s work, romance here can never be separated from society, and love never arrives without cost.
