Absolute honour to be present at the book launch on the 54th anniversary of the massacre at Ona & Beskedkira.
I have heard many testimonies of the villagers and survivors over the years. It's documentation is important, for the wider Eritrean population to understand the gravity of what was endured there.
The solidarity that was experienced has always been proof of a deep commitment to a collective national identity, regardless of religious background.
Even in the face of certain death.
I'm still in awe of the sacrifices that have been made by our people for our nation.
Everyone in attendance were received warmly by the local people.
