Still thinking about the half marathon I ran with my brother Cesar Perez It ended up being one of the hardest runs of my life but one of the best ones!

The night before we drove to Plattsburgh Urgent Care and then to the ER and got home at 2 am. We made a split second decision at 2 am that we would still try to run on 4 hours sleep!!! We woke up the next morning at 6 am ate and then out the door we went to pick up our bibs on race day.

This race was something me and Cesar had talked about for months and the day was finally here! We started off at a really good tempo and the race felt as if it zoomed by, Cesar coached me all while we stayed close to the 1:40 pace bunny. The last 2 kms felt eternal as I ran out of gas and had to run all with heart and no legs. Cesar Perez thank you so much for the words of encouragement and the “ok we have to empty the tank here” in the last 1/4 km. I remember thinking man this tank has been empty since km 19 😂 But we did it bro, we ran a race, and you coached me to a new PR, almost 8 minutes faster.

My knees still a bit wonky from the race but the memories made will last a lifetime! Shout out to my family Caleb Perez Karen Perez Ed N Dino Lopez for being there at the finish line. Karen Perez seeing you there and shouting “babe” meant the world to me! Thank you for your love and support!
