Opening Reception: May 26th, at 6:30 PM From May 26th to May 29th, 2026PORT GALLERY – Carrer Josep Anselm Clavé 13, 08002, Barcelona Origami is the antithesis of war. It is an act of patience, a ritual of care that transforms humble material into spirit. Yet, in contemporary society, this symbol of peace has been violated. In « Transaction 644 », ADGART explicates the most atrocious paradox of our time: aesthetics becoming an accomplice to destruction.
Here, origami is no longer a contemplative object but a vector. It is the human hand that carefully folds paper to « deliver » death. By juxtaposing the lightness of Sadako Sasaki’s crane with the steel weight of landmines and missiles, the artist reveals the nature of our social crisis: a « transaction » where we have traded the time of ritual for the efficiency of slaughter. The missile and the mine are no longer foreign bodies; they become an integral part of the origami’s structure—parasites of a beauty that can no longer fly free.
ADGART presents us with a choice: to continue looking at the colorful surface or to recognize the payload we are agreeing to carry. A reflection on mindfulness as the ultimate defense against social anesthesia.
