It’s s been almost a decade since my last visit to Shanghai. I’m heading back in June to keynote MWC Shanghai.
My conversation there will focus on what comes after LLMs from world models, spatial AI and computing, geospatial models, AI and XR hardware, the future of connectivity and how technology moats are shifting.
I’ll be sharing this important international stage with some truly visionary keynote speakers for ! 📣
✔️ Vivek Badrinath from GSMA
✔️ John Smee from Qualcomm
✔️ Lina Bariah, from the UAE’s Khalifa University
From and to intelligent industries and next-generation innovation, I hope to see some of you in Shanghai and continue shaping the digital economy.
My book on Spatial Computing and AI was a best seller in China and was published there by CITIC Press, which is one of China’s most prestigious publishers.

Got to see so many amazing friends this weekend in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 . We danced 💃, we laughed 😆 and we celebrated 🍸 being together again after so many years. “La vida es una hermosura, hay que vivirla!” (Celia Cruz)

I’m honored to join the inaugural cohort of the World Economy Principals.
This carefully curated and highly influential community brings together global CEOs, policymakers, builders, and innovators who are actively shaping the next chapter of the world economy. Principals are nominated by peers and institutions and selected for their leadership, ideas, and real-world impact. Semafor World Economy, convening in Washington, DC, is the largest gathering of global chief executives in the United States.
At a moment of extraordinary global change, the conversations around technology, AI, and the future of markets matter more than ever. I’m looking forward to joining this exceptional group in Washington, DC this Spring to engage in high-trust discussions about the forces reshaping our economies, industries, and societies.
Grateful to contribute my perspective on AI, spatial computing, physical AI, world models, XR, gaming and the convergence of technologies that are redefining how we live, work, and connect.
Join me as I take a tour of the stand at MWC. What stood out wasn’t a single product—it was the architecture of what comes next.
Nokia walked me through how they’re building toward AI-native networks… this means networks designed from the ground up for intelligence, autonomy, and trust. This isn’t about bolting AI onto legacy infrastructure. It’s about rethinking how networks sense, learn, decide, and act in real time.
Why this matters:
To move from generative AI → agentic AI → physical AI, we need networks that can support real-world interaction at scale—machines, robots, smart glasses, wearables, drones, vehicles, sensors, and humans operating together. That requires ultra-low latency, embedded intelligence at the edge, secure identity, and resilience by design.
AI-native networks are the bridge between digital intelligence and the physical world. They’re what will make physical AI viable, safe, and scalable.
What I saw at Nokia was a clear signal: the future of AI won’t just be built in models—it will be built into networks and infrastructure and connectivity are the next phase of disruption.
