The Advanced Manufacturing thesis cluster started from a simple but radical premise: that how we build matters as much as what we build.

Students from the Master in Advanced Architecture – specialising in robotics and advanced construction – spent months testing that idea through robotic fabrication, digital workflows and material systems that push construction beyond its current limits.

Over the past weeks, second year students of the Master in Advanced Architecture presented their work across four clusters – Algorithmic Design, Digital Urban Landscapes, Interactive Architecture and Advanced Materials.

From generative AI and parametric tools to interspecies urban infrastructure, responsive environments and bio-based material systems – the work pushed the boundaries of what architecture can ask, build and imagine.

Anupama Kundoo Anupama Kundoo explores people-centric architecture based on spatial and material research for low environmental impact while being socio-economically beneficial.

Hester van Dijk is a spatial designer and co-founder of Overtreders W, designing temporary and circular spatial structures that are demountable, reusable, and built from biobased, recycled and locally sourced materials.
